Dr.
Andrew H. Cohen
Dr. Cohen was born and raised in New York. He attended Boston
University where he graduated with Cum Laude honors in 1986.
He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1990
from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed
a residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery from
Kern Hospital for Special Surgery in Warren, Michigan in 1992.
Dr. Cohen was selected to Pi Delta Honor Society and Pi Mu
Delta Honor Society receiving academic honors in all four
years of podiatric medical school graduating Magna Cum Laude.
During his residency, Dr. Cohen was selected to lecture as
well as demonstrate foot and ankle surgery to colleagues in
England.
Dr. Cohen is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric
Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle
Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle
Orthopedics and Medicine, an Associate of the American College
of Podiatric Sports Medicine, a member of the American Diabetes
Association Council on Foot Care, the American Podiatric Medical
Association, and a member of the Michigan Podiatric Medical
Association.
Dr. Cohen is a past Scientific Chairman for the Michigan Podiatric
Medical Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Wound
Management, and a Board Certified Wound Care Specialist. He
is Board Certified by the American Board of Disability Analysts,
a Member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators,
and the Michigan Organization of Diabetes Educators.
He has authored articles for publication and continues to
be active in both research and education. Dr. Cohen is an
active Clinical instructor for family practice residency programs
affiliated with Michigan State University and the College
of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Science, Des Moines,
Iowa. He has served on the Board for several speakers' bureaus
and has presented lectures throughout the United States and
England.
Dr. Cohen served as podiatric consultant to the Saginaw Wheels
professional hockey team from 1994 - 1996 and presently with
Saginaw Valley State University athletic program. In 1997
Dr. Cohen was selected by American Biographical as a Life
Member in the National Registry of Who's Who and was included
in Marquis Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare for the millennium
edition.
He has been an active hospital staff member at Covenant Healthcare,
St. Mary's Hospital and Bay Regional Medical Center where
he has maintained full surgical, consulting and admitting
privileges since 1994. In addition, he has served as Vice
Chairman of the Podiatry Section, Bay Regional Medical Center
since 2001.
Dr. Cohen is an original faculty member at National's
Wound Healing Center, covenant Healthcare, Saginaw Michigan
where he continues to help establish wound care protocols
as an active member of the limb salvage team. |
