Our
Staff
The staff of the Mid-Michigan Foot and Ankle Center / Diabetic
Foot Center are well trained with the experience of thousands
of patient visits each year and almost 30 years combined experience.
More importantly, they are friendly and understand a patient’s
need for kindness and compassion. They will try to make every
effort to reduce the stress of your visit. In the event that
surgery or hospital admission is necessary, the staff will take
care of all pre-authorization’s and schedule all testing
as necessary. |

Appointments
Every
effort will be made to see you at the time of your appointment.
We understand that no one likes to wait. Occasionally we are
delayed due to unpredictable problems of other patients. In
addition, patients that require immediate emergency care will
be worked in with the regular appointments as necessary. If
you cannot keep your appointment, please notify us 24 hours
in advance. This courtesy on your part makes it possible for
us to give an appointment to another patient that may need to
be seen. As a service to all of our patients the scheduling
staff will contact patients the day prior to an appointment
to remind them of their appointment time. |

Hospital
Affiliations
Dr.
Cohen is on staff at all the area hospitals. In the event of
a hospital admission with the need for surgery, you may choose
from among the area hospitals including:
• Covenant Healthcare
• St. Mary's Hospital
• Bay Regional Medical Center |

Emergencies
If
you need attention after hours, Dr. Cohen can be reached by
calling either office number. The answering service will notify
him immediately. Your call will be returned as soon as possible. |

Medical
Insurance
Our
centers participate with most insurance companies. We are a
Medicare and Medicaid provider. Dr. Cohen is on the panel of
all major PPO and managed care contracts including Blue Care
Network, Health Plus, Blue Choice, Community Choice, Great Lakes
Health Plan, Aetna Managed Care, Workman’s Compensation,
and Auto Insurance plans. If you do have an HMO that requires
a referral, we ask that you make sure to obtain this prior to
your first office visit from your family doctor. If you have
any questions just contact our office and our staff can provide
some assistance. Dr. Cohen is also available to provide second
opinions, which may be required by your insurance company. For
your convenience, our billing company will file all insurance
forms electronically, (even the secondary claims). |

Referrals
We
still have plenty of room in the practice to see your friends
and family. If someone you know has foot or ankle problems we
would be happy to see him or her. |
